[Grammar] Complaining Adjective

We can use adjectives to complain about something, for example:
The bed is too hard. The bed isn't soft enough.
The bathroom is too dirty. The bathroom isn't clean enough.
The bedroom is too messy. The bedroom isn't tidy enough.
The bathroom is too small. The bedroom isn't big enough.

[Grammar] I'm boring OR I'm bored?

One day, in an English class...

My teacher
Are you sleepy?
Me & my friends
Yes!
My teacher
Bosan?
Me & my friends
Yes! We’re boring!
My teacher
You are boring?
Me & my friends
Yeah!
My teacher
Really?
My & my friends
Yes!
My teacher
Hahahaha

Why did she laugh??? Well, there are many adjectives ending in –ing and – ed. For example, boring and bored. Somebody is bored if something (or somebody, etc.) is boring. Or, if something is boring, it makes you bored.
I’m bored because the movie is boring.
The movie is boring, so I’m bored (not “I am boring”).

If a person is boring, it means that he/she makes other people bored.
Julia is always talks about the same thing. He’s really boring.

So, me and my friends were supposed to say “We are bored” instead of “We are boring”. No wonder my teacher laughed at that time, he he.

There are some other examples of adjectives ending in –ing and – ed:
I was disappointed with the movie
The movie was disappointing
This weather makes me depressed
This weather is depressing
I’m interested in football
Football is interesting

I'm bored = saya bosan. I'm boring = saya membosankan. Jadi kalau lagi bosan, jangan bilang "I'm boring" nanti diketawain Ibu Guru, hehe.

[Vocabulary] Adjectives and Sungkyunkwan Scandal Casts

Here comes one of my favourite Korean dramas, Sungkyunkwan Scandal. This drama is very famous among my friends. Well, I found out that this historical setting drama is hilarious and entertaining. The story takes place in Sungkyunkwan, the highest educational agency og the Joseon era. In this story, Sungkyunwan is more than an academy, it is also the site of political feuds where people post writings on walls in a life-risking attempt to speak to the king and where officials desperately tried to catch the culprits. But most of all, it is a place of vibrant youth where student strive to put friendship and love before the stringent rules of the academy.

More Synopsis

Sungkyunkwan Scandal is set in Sungkyunkwan University in the late Joseon era during the reign of King Jeongjo, revolving around the exploits and love stories of four youths. When her younger brother's illness worsens and their family is in danger of being evicted from their house for lack of money, Kim Yoon Hee enters the school under his name, disguised as a boy in her desperation to support him. There, she becomes friends with the intelligent and upright Lee Sun Joon, the playboy Goo Yong Ha and rebellious Moon Jae Shin.

Source:

Now, back to learning English. Suddenly I’ve got an idea to learn new vocabulary (adjectives) by using the names of Sungkyunkwan Scandal casts. I remember one of my English teachers asked me and my friends to mention the adjectives start with the letters in our names and find the meaning. It was fun!

Note: I don’t mean to use the adjectives here to describe the personality of the casts but purely to share some adjectives start with the letters in their names.
